Tuesday, September 22nd

What an absolutely fabulous evening we had on 22nd September, when the famous French pianist, Patricia Pagny, performed at the Kobe Club.

Mistakenly, we had been of the opinion that we had made table reservations, but found out at the last minute that we had not. There was no more place at the membersí tables, but we were lucky to still have two seats at a non-memberís table. I say lucky, because Patricia performed for a full house, undoubtedly because many people had heard her play before. We were also lucky, because it enabled us to make the acquaintance of some very interesting people.

Unlike some of our fellow-members, this was the first time for us to hear Patricia play. In 2007, we were not in the country, when she performed for the first time at the Kobe Club.

It was an evening of sheer musical delight. We admired the virtuosity with which Patricia played the beautiful sonatas of Mozart and Beethoven in the first part of her performance, followed by pieces of Claude Debussy and Robert Schumann.

We like to compliment the organizer, Mr. Dainel Aviolat, for inviting such an acclaimed artist to the Club and like to thank him for giving us the opportunity to enjoy an evening of beautiful music.

Adding to the success of the evening was also the delicious dinner prepared by Chef Kamiki. Our special thanks to him for substituting the beef on the menu for fish, knowing that we both are not allowed to eat meat.
