My Dear Fellow Members,
I trust this message will find each and every one of you in good health.
Time is going by very fast... Although I feel I have just addressed you with my previous message in the Spotlight November issue, yet we have moved forward on many fronts.
Please join me in welcoming the following 3 gentlemen to their new duties in the service of the Club and its members.
Mohan Gulrajani has been appointed as the Vice President of the Kobe Club. Mohan joined the Club in 1996. He served on the Balloting Committee for a year in 2005-2006, and since then he has been active in the General Committee. In addition to organizing exciting events at the Club, Mohan has been active behind the scenes with many issues related to the future of our Club.

Richard Bruggemann has been selected for the General Committee. Rick
joined the club in 1973. He was elected to the General Committee in 1999
as Honorary Treasurer. From 2001 Rick assumed the position of Auditor
till he was elected President in 2005, and served in that position till
2007. He later assumed other positions in the General Committee till
2010. Rick has been and still is a very active member in sub-committees
working on the future plans of our Club.

Keiske Cho has rejoined the Advisory Committee. Keiske has been
active in the Club life since he joined in 1990. He served on the
General Committee from 1995 to 2000, partly as Honorary Secretary and
partly as Vice President. From 2001 to 2004, Keiske served on the
Balloting Committee and in 2007, he was asked to be part of the Advisory
Committee. He stepped down last year, and I am honored to have him back
on board.

Please extend your support to all the members of committees and sub-committees. Thank you.

The new Articles of Associations of the Kobe Club are almost ready.
They are being reviewed and fine-tuned by the members of the General
Committee. These Articles of Association must be approved by our members
and consequently by the government authorities. While this is being
completed, the General Committee and its Sub-Committees will be
concentrating on developing a new set of bye-laws. This is no easy task
considering these bye-laws will govern every aspect of our Club into the
future, therefore, we will spare no efforts in bringing this task to
perfection!

Although it feels like spring weather this weekend with high 20
degrees, we are approaching the year-end holiday season. This is time
for celebration and fun. Kobe Club is a great place to host your family
and friends for nice meals, or to have your company’s bonenkai (year-end
party) and Christmas parties. Kobe Club has a variety of articles that
you can gift to your friends or business partners during this holiday
season.

As you can read in this issue of the Spotlight, there are many events
lined up for this and coming months at the Kobe Club. Please enjoy
these events together with your family and friends. As you can see,
there are many ways of supporting your Club. Your support is very
important to our Club.

The President’s New year reception will be held on Sunday, January
15th starting at 11:00 a.m. It is a great opportunity to re-connect with
your fellow members and friends after the long holiday season, not to
mention your only chance to take pictures with the Club office pretty
ladies in their fantastic kimonos. On that day, drinks and snacks are
offered to all members and their families, courtesy of the Kobe Club !

The hard working Club management and staff will have their year-end
holidays starting on December 31st. The Club will resume its activities
on the morning of January 5th.

I take this opportunity to wish you all happy holidays and a very
happy new year, hoping it will be a better year to each and every one of
you. Thank you and see you around the Club.

Imad Ramadan, President
