Sunday, December 25th

This year’s Christmas Dinner on December 25th was attended by 46 people. Before getting on to the gastronomic delights of the evening I would like to make special mention of the beautifully decorated restaurant. Jimmy and his team had obviously put in an enormous amount of time and effort to create a warm and intimate setting for this special Christmas dinner.

Chef Kamiki had prepared a wonderful feast to match the decorations. Starters included Shogoin Turnip Veloute (like a mousse), followed by 2 seafood/ salad dishes. Mains were seasonal white fish followed by roast beef fillet and stewed cheek of beef. The meat lovers in my family declared this last dish to be particularly “yummy”.
And just when I thought I was quite full came dessert and coffee/tea, which went happily in to that extra “tummy” one keeps for the finale on such occasions. All of the above was accompanied by a glass (or two) of wine from Freddie’s selection for the night.
As we all know, Chef Kamiki’s dishes are always exquisitely presented, and this year was no exception. At the end, we had the opportunity to actually thank Chef Kamiki and his team.
In addition to Chef Kamiki and his team, I also would like to thank Jimmy and his restaurant team, Freddie and his beverage team, Okabe-san and the office staff who worked so hard to make it such a wonderful evening.
Events such as this one are what makes our Kobe Club so special. I personally look forward to many more such evenings. Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
