Saturday, September 2nd

On Saturday 2nd September , 24 Kobe Club /KRAC members assembled at Kobe Golf Club(Rokko-San) to compete for annual SOUZA CUP tournament.

On this traditional competition we play against members of Kobe Golf Club.
As amount of the attendants were 35 people, Kobe Club Golf captains Edi and Ayami were so happy to nd such a big group.
The temperature was a little cool, at an elevation of 950m but it was a pleasant change after the long hot summer that we have endured.
The course conditions were beautifully maintained and the rough was neatly trimmed that we could fully enjoy the match in a very friendly atmosphere.
Now, letís move to the result. Which side got the SOUZA CUP this year?
Last year, for the rst time as far as I can remember, KC/KRAC could claim overall victory!
And this year, we did it AGAIN!!
The sum of the combined net score of the ten best players of each team resulted in a 642.4 points (Kobe Club)vs 654.2 points(Kobe Golf Club).
The crown of the lowest net scores went to Y. Shinmen(61),K.Sakai(61.4), S.Ikeda(62.8).
Mr. Shinmen from Kobe Golf Club has also hit the best gross of the day included EAGLE shot at 16th hole!
 Congratulations to all!

In the evening, the players along with
partners and honored guests reconvened at the Kobe Club for a wonderful dinner and presentation of prizes.
Prizes were awarded not only for good scores but also with lucky draws and bingo games that left no one without a small present to take home.
Thanks you very much Mrs. Okahashi for donating door prizes and also many thanks to Mr. Burt who arranged for the many bingo prizes every year.
Edi Herbst donated the products of his company as EAGLE prize. Thank you Edi.
At last but not at least, special thanks to Mr.Abe, the President of Kobe Golf Club who allow us the use of the course and special green fees for the day.
Hope to see you again next year to win three consecutive victory!

- Ayami Kobayashi
